The rules of the house, in plain words.

These Terms govern your use of Reela — the website at reela.studio, the Reela Shorts application at shorts.reela.studio, and any future Reela service (together, the "Service"). By creating an account you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can use Reela

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) and not be located in a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive EU or OFAC sanctions. You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.

2. Your account

Keep your login email secure. You are responsible for everything generated through your account. If you notice any unauthorised use, email us immediately at hello@reela.studio.

3. Subscriptions and billing

• Paid plans bill on a monthly or yearly cycle, automatically renewing until you cancel.
• All prices are in EUR and displayed on the /pricing page. VAT is added at checkout where applicable.
• You can cancel at any time from the Stripe-hosted billing portal linked in your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the end of the current paid period.
• We offer a 14-day free trial to first-time subscribers. If you cancel during the trial you are not charged.
• Credits purchased or included with a plan never expire while your account is active.

4. EU consumer right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have a 14-day right to withdraw from the contract. Because Reela is a digital service delivered immediately, by starting to use the Service (generating your first short) you expressly waive this right for any content already delivered. Unused period-refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — email us.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Reela to create or distribute:

• Content depicting real identifiable people without their consent, or public figures in deceiving contexts
• Sexual content involving minors, or CSAM of any form
• Content promoting terrorism, self-harm, or illegal violence
• Hate speech targeting protected groups
• Content that infringes third-party copyright or trademarks
• Spam, malware, phishing, or attempts to compromise the Service
• Automated or abusive patterns (mass-signup for free credits, scraping, benchmark-without-consent)

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and we cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.

6. Ownership of generated content

You own the shorts you generate. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your output. To run the Service we need a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, and serve your content to you — this license ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for the briefs you submit and for ensuring your output complies with applicable laws and the Acceptable Use policy above.

7. Third-party AI models

Reela Shorts routes your inputs to third-party AI providers (OpenAI for scripting, fal.ai for image and video, ElevenLabs for voice). We configure those providers not to train on your data where that option is available. The generated output can contain artefacts, hallucinations, or biases inherent to the models — you should review it before publishing.

8. Service availability

We work hard to keep the Service up, but we do not guarantee 100% uptime on paid consumer plans. Enterprise plans may come with a specific Service Level Agreement negotiated separately.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REELA DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, OTHER THAN THOSE THAT CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED UNDER APPLICABLE CONSUMER LAW.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Reela's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these Terms, with notice where reasonable. Upon termination your content is deleted within 30 days, except data we are legally required to retain.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. For material changes we give 30 days' notice by email before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Disputes with consumers are subject to the jurisdiction of the consumer's place of residence where mandatory consumer law requires. The EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
